The management of the Implants Bursary is calling on all eligible students of South Africa to apply for the ongoing bursary. You will find the details about the bursary application below.
Implats is top platinum and related platinum group metals (PGMs) (cobalt, copper, and nickel) producer, it has its plants located in Zimbabwe and the Bushveld Complex in South Africa which are part of the greatest global PGM-bearing ore bodies.
Implats aim to be part of the best and biggest platinum-producing organization in the world and they currently produce 22% of the primary platinum supply in the world.
Apart from the business goal, they also contribute to the development of South African students by providing funding for them.
IMPLATS BURSARY PROGRAMME FIELDS COVERED
Impala Platinum/ Implats is inviting students to apply for their bursary program, for the 2024 academic year.
Each year, the company awards bursaries for studies within these fields:
- Accounting (BCom)
- Chemical Engineering
- Chemistry (BSc)
- Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current only)
- Extractive Metallurgy
- Geology (Mining or Exploration)
- Human Resources (BCom)
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Survey (Mining)
IMPLATS BURSARY PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE & SELECTION PROCESS
The Implats bursary will take care of the following student expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, accommodation in campus residence, computer allowance (from the second year only), and a cash allowance.
All recipients of this bursary will have to take pain a vacation work at Impala Platinum at the end of each year. After graduation, they will also work for Impala for the number of times they receive the bursary
The Impala Bursary management will contact all shortlisted candidates for an interview at the Impala Platinum Rustenburg Operation. Those who did not receive feedback after 30 days should consider their application unsuccessful.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE IMPLATS BURSARY
To be eligible for this bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements. Failure to meet all the requirements will make your application unsuccessful. Below are the Implats Bursary requirements:
- Applicant must be a South African citizen
- Must have completed Matric and received a University exemption
- Studying or intend on studying full-time in any of the fields listed above, in 2022
- You must have achieved a minimum result of 60% (“C” symbol/ level 5) for English in Matric
- Achieved a minimum result of 60% (“C” symbol/ level 5) for Science Matric
- Achieved a minimum result of 60% (“C” symbol/ level 5) for Mathematics in Matric
- Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply

After filling out the application form, applicants are to submit the application form with the following required documents:
Note: All the certified copies of the required documents must be submitted for your application to be considered.
- ID document
- Matric certificate
- Full tertiary academic record/ proof of results, if currently at tertiary level
- University certificate of conduct for those currently at tertiary level
- Curriculum Vitae
- A recent black-and-white photograph of yourself (head and shoulders)
