The management of the Garden Cities is offering funds for South African Students to assist their education. Garden Cities was founded in 1919 by Sir Ebenezer a businessman and politician. He is the one that proposed that new towns should be planned to provide a good living environment for people living in the slum after WW1.

Garden Cities is responsible for projects involving housing development for over 100years now, some popular projects they have done are; Square Hill Garden City, Elfindale Garden City, Edgemead Garden City, Northpine Garden City, Dennemere Garden City, Pinelands Garden City, Meadowridge Garden City, Victoria Park Garden City and others.

Profits made by the company are reinvested into the company and used to buy lands for future development. They also build school halls and science laboratories in Western Cape Province.

GARDEN CITIES BURSARY PROGRAMME: FIELDS COVERED

The Garden Cities Bursary is open to students studying in any of the fields below:

  • Accounting
  • B Pharmacy
  • BCom Finance
  • BCom Gen
  • BSc Biodiversity & Conservation Biology
  • BSc Biotechnology
  • BSc Physiotherapy

COVERAGE VALUE & SERVICE CONTRACT

The Value of the Bursary will be determined by the Garden Cities. Also, students will have to reapply every year for the bursary but they must meet the requirements to be eligible.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE GARDEN CITIES BURSARY

If you want to be a beneficiary of the Garden Cities Bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Students under 26 years of age (For first-time applicants)
  • Preferably from the Western Cape province
  • Students studying towards any of the qualifications above.
  • You must be registered for your 2nd, 3rd, final or Honours year in 2022
  • You must NOT have applied for other bursary awards (e.g. ETDP SETA bursary, NSFAS etc)
  • Applicants household income should be between R350 000 and R600 000 per annum

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE GARDEN CITIES BURSARY

To apply for the Garden Cities Bursary, you will have to download and complete their application form.

After filling the form, applicants are to attach a certified copies of their supporting documents with the application form. It is compulsory to submit all the required documents, failure to submit any will render your application useless.

  • University progress report or study record
  • University Financial Statement
  • Evidence of parents or guardians household income (recent payslip or a letter of employment not older than 3 months, if employed; letter of unemployment if unemployed; pension advice if applicable)
