The Africa Health Research Institute/UCL MSc Scholarship is funded by the UCL’s Division of Infection and Immunity and it is an award for the UK academic year for September 2022 to September 2023.

If your interest and academic background aligned with the research at AHRI, this scholarship is for you and it will be administered via AHRI.

Applicants will be made to go through a competitive selction rounds at AHRI after which successful applicants will be nominated for the UCL selection. The application for the MSc course is separate and the AHRI nominee will be guided throughout the process.

 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Africa Health Research Institute/UCL MSc Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants must be permanantly based in South Africa
  • Applicants must have a high-quality academic record
  • A valid passport at the time of application.
  • Applicants must have an Honours degree equivalent to a Bachelor (Honours) degree with Second Class Division 1 Honours or 70% in an appropriate subject.
  • Applicant must be ready to be in London to start their chosen course in September 2022.

Other requirements for the Africa Health Research Institute/UCL MSc Scholarship are as follows:

  1. Personal statement.

  1. Details of two referees:

Applicants should get two reference letter from an academic staff and someone who who taugh you at degree level. In place of second academic reference you can use a professional reference.

Applicants should provide a professional or academic email of their referee and make sure they are aware so that they will be aware of the invitation to provide reference letter for you.

Closing Date

The closing date for the Africa Health Research Institute/UCL MSc Scholarship is April 1st, 2022. All application and required documents must be submitted on or before this date to be eligible.
