Mitchell’s Plain Bursary and Role Model Trust Bursary 2020-2021

Mitchell’s Plain Bursary and Role Model Trust was established when Trevor Manuel’s deployment as the MP of African National Congress to serve Mitchell’s Plain constituency in 2009.

Bursary Requirements and Eligibility

Below are the requirements for students that want to apply for the bursary:

  • Grade 12 learner from one of the 17 high schools in Mitchell’s Plain or current recipient of a bursary from the Trust
  • Residence of Mitchell’s Plain
  • Studying in one of the eligible fields of study
  • A letter of support from your school
  • Submit the application before 30 November 2019
  • Good academics performance
  • Financially disadvantaged students

How to Apply and Application Details

You can apply online at The Mitchells Plain Bursary and Role Model Trust website.

A scanned copy of the following documents must be uploaded with the application letter:

  • ID document
  • Parent(s)/guardian’s proof of income, if none please include a sworn affidavit stating this
  • If the parent(s) are deceased, attach death certificate or sworn affidavit
  • Proof of residence

New applicants are to submit the following together with the above documents

  • Grade 11 exam results
  • Grade 12 June and September exam results
  • A copy of the receipt for the application submitted to the relevant tertiary institution
  • A support letter from their school  principal
  • A motivation letter stating why you deserve the bursary

Current recipients are to submit June and September exam results
