Late Application Timeframe
The CPUT Late Admission Application 2022 is available to only identified programmes with available spaces for the following application categories:
- Applicants who exhausted only 1 or 2 options out of the maximum of 3 choices for applications submitted during the normal application timelines
- Applicants who did not apply during the normal application timelines (maximum of 3 choices)
- No 4th choices following the Dean’s Discretionary process will be considered during this late application timeline
- Students transferring from other universities to CPUT
- CPUT students who have taken a gap in their studies
- Phasing out programmes
- Advanced Diploma Studies (Students who have completed a National Diploma/Diploma/Bachelors Degree or equivalent studies)
- Postgraduate studies – M Tech/Master Course-based programmes
- Postgraduate studies – Post Graduate Diploma programmes
Note: Applicants can still apply for the following programmes regardless of the late application timeframe.

Who can apply
Below are the eligible candidates that can apply for the CPUT Late Admission Application Form:
- National applicants (with an SA ID), including Refugee/Asylum Seeker and/or Permanent Residency applicants with a National Senior Certificate (NSC) / SC (Senior Certificate) / NCV (National Vocal Certificate) / National Qualification.
- National applicants (with an SA ID) with international qualifications who already have SAQA certificates.
- Refugee/Asylum Seeker status applicants with international qualifications who already have SAQA certificates.
- Permanent residency applicants with SA ID with international qualifications who already have SAQA certificates.
- Regretfully no RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) applications will be considered.

How to submit your late application
Below are the steps to follow to submit your CPUT Late Admission Application Form:
- The online application is free on the CPUT application website.
- All CPUT Late Admission Applications are to be submitted online except few Non-degree programmes.
- Fill the application form completely with your information.
Online Application Process
To apply for the CPUT Admission application is an easy process that can be done from the comfort of your room on a smartphone, tablet or computer with an internet connection.
It is advisable to use Internet Explorer for your application, for the computer you can use Internet Explorer 7 or higher, with Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 or higher.
Follow the step by step application process below for a successful application:
STEP 1: CHOOSE PROGRAMMES AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Before you start your CPUT Late Admission Application, students are advised to check the 2021 CPUT Prospectus to make sure they meet the minimum admission requirements for the programme they are applying to.

STEP 2: GATHER YOUR DOCUMENTS OR UPLOAD FURTHER/OUTSTANDING DOCUMENTS
Applicants are to submit a certified copy of all the required supporting documents, more information can be found here.
Note the following information regarding supporting documents:
- Applicants that are not up to 18 at the time of application are required to submit a Minor Application Declaration, click here to download the form.
- All documents must be scanned in tiff, pdf, jpeg or gif in not more than 2MB each and uploaded individually at the uploading Certificate code for each of them. (MS Excel and MS Word document formats are not recognized)

- No manual posted or over the counter applications will be accepted unless for those categories that cannot submit online and as outlined in Step 3: Get an application form here
- Please note that applicants are limited to three choices. (except for RPL – only one choice permissible).
- Some qualifications require applicants to submit additional information as part of their application as outlined in Step 1: Choose a qualification and Step 2: Gather your documents

Non-Degree Application Process (Indicated as a Manual Process in the Undergraduate List)
The late application fee for late application s R150. Those in this category are going to use the manual process of application. Below are the steps to follow:
- Obtain the application form as stated in the step for the online application. Download the CPUT Late Admission Application Form Here.
- Check if you meet all the requirements for your course
- Complete the application form with your correct information.
- Attach all the required documents with your application form
- Pay the application fee and attach the receipt to your application form.
You are to submit the application form and the required documents together to the address below:
Admissions Office, Bellville Campus, Symphony Way (off Robert Sobukwe Road, Bellville)
Note: The application form will only be collected within the application dates.
Important Notice
Applicants are to note the following:
- Applicants are expected to fill their application form completely and attach all supporting documents to be eligible for admission.
- Applicants are to apply for admission online except those that fall n the exception list can apply manually (i.e. few non-degree purpose programmes).
- Postal Services (including courier services) will not be considered.
- Due to limited residence spaces, being accepted academically does not guarantee a space into the residence
