The Chevening Scholarships are funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations, it is the official UK government’s global scholarship programme.
Chevening Scholarships are open to all outstanding scholars that have leadership potential from all parts of the world to study for a master’s degree in any subject at any UK university.

The Chevening Scholarships is open to all students from all over the world with leadership potential to study at any UK university in a field of study of their choice.
Chevening offers a one-year full-time Master’s Degree Programme in any UK university course. You can use the Chevening course finder to find the eligible master’s degrees at every university across the UK.

The Chevening Scholarship will offer funding opportunities for around 1,500 students from all over the world.
Target group
Only students that are citizens of Chevening-eligible countries are eligible for the scholarship. You can check the list of eligible countries on the official website.
Scholarship value/inclusions
University tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, travel expenses to and from the UK, an arrival allowance, a homeward departure allowance, the cost of one visa application, and a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK are often all covered by a Chevening Scholarship.
Chevening Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
There are certain requirements students must meet to be eligible for the Chevening Scholarship. They are:
- Students from Chevening-eligible countries or territories.
- Ready to return to your country for a minimum of two years after your scholarship has ended
- By the time you submit your application, you must have finished all requirements for an undergraduate degree that will allow you to enrol in a postgraduate program at a UK university. According to your subject and university selection, this is normally similar to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK, though it may be different.
- Have at least two years which is equivalent to 2,800 hours of work experience.
- Apply for three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 13 July 2023.
