The management of the Astron Energy Bursary is calling on all eligible candidates to apply for the ongoing bursary. Astron Energy is one of the top Petroleum Products suppliers in South Africa with around 850 Caltex branded service stations.
Astron Energy operates one of the biggest crude oil refineries in Cape Town, which produces petrol, diesel, jet fuel, LPG, bitumen gas and other speciality products. It has a capacity of 100,000 barrels a day. It has a Lubricants Manufacturing Plant in Durban which is one of the top blending and base oil storage facilities.
Astron Energy history can be traced back to the first-time crude oil cargo was imported into the country in 1911 to help meet the fuel needs. Apart from providing bursaries for students, the company is also committed to reducing its carbon footprint and ensuring environmental and safety standards at the highest level.
The water recycling plant in the Cape Town refinery is responsible for the productions of water used in the refining process. The Cape Town headquarters has also received a Star Green Star rating from The Green Building Council of South Africa.

ASTRON ENERGY BURSARY PROGRAMME VALUE
The Astron Energy Bursary will cover the following beneficiary expenses: tuition fees, books, accommodation, registration fees and meal allowance.
The bursary is administered by CareerWise who is responsible for accepting, scanning and shortlisting candidates. All the shortlisted will be contacted and invited for a panel interview assessment after which Astron will make the final selection.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ASTRON ENERGY BURSARY
To be eligible for the Astron Energy Bursary, you have to meet the below requirements. It is compulsory to meet all the requirements to be eligible for this bursary. Below are the requirements:
- Application is open to only South African citizen
- Applicants that have completed Matric
- Applicants studying or intend on studying towards a qualification, in one of the fields listed above in 2022
- Studying or enrolled to study at a DHET registered tertiary institution in South Africa
- have a strong academic record
- Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply

CLOSING DATE
