Cape Peninsula University of Technology

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology, CPUT is one of the universities open for late application for 2022. CPUT will open an application portal for students that want to apply for the 2022 late applications for programmes on the 14th of February.

The late application exercise will take place online except for students that are applying for a few Non-degree programmes identified. The CPUT late application is free for all applicants.

To apply for the CPUT Late application, students must meet some requirements.

Who Can Apply

To apply for the CPUT late application which will open on 14 February and close on 18 February, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants who exhausted only 1 or 2 options out of the 3 choices for applications submitted during the normal application timelines
  • Applicants that did not apply during the CPUT application timelines with a maximum of 3 choices
  • CPUT will not consider 4th choices for the late application following the Dean’s Discretionary
  • Students transferring from other universities to CPUT
  • CPUT students who took a gap in their studies
  • Phasing out programmes
  • Advanced Diploma Studies (Students who have completed a National Diploma/Diploma/Bachelors Degree or equivalent studies)
  • Postgraduate studies: M Tech/Master Course-based programmes
  • Postgraduate studies: Post Graduate Diploma programmes

Students that fall in this category can also sen in their application for the late admission application programme:

  • National applicants (with an SA ID), including Refugee/Asylum Seeker and/or Permanent Residency applicants with a National Senior Certificate (NSC) / SC (Senior Certificate) / NCV (National Vocal Certificate) / National Qualification.
  • National applicants (with an SA ID) with international qualifications who already have SAQA certificates.
  • Refugee/Asylum Seeker status applicants with an international qualification who already have SAQA certificates.
  • Permanent residency applicants with SA ID with international qualifications who already have SAQA certificates.

Note: No Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) applications will be considered for the late application.

University of Johannesburg

The University of Johannesburg has opened a portal for students that want to apply for the 2022 late application. All matriculants and interested applicants can proceed to apply for it.

The UJ late application will close on 27 January at 9 AM. Those that want to make an enquiry on the space available at UJ or want to change to another course are to use the late application enquiry system to do so.

Applicants will only have the choice to pick from the space available at UJ and they must meet the minimum requirements for the space available to be considered for admission. The UJ late enquiry form may close early depending on the volume of the application.

The UJ selection is after the release of the grade 12 results and applicants will be informed within 5 working days through e-mail, and unofficially via SMS on their application status.

How To Apply

  1. Applicants are to submit either their UJ student number, Grade 12 examination number or ID number and click on submit.
  2. Verify your personal details and click on confirm.
  3. New/Previous application confirmation:
    • You will be notified if you qualify for any available qualifications if you are a first-time applicant at UJ.
    • For those that applied for the 2021 Academic year, the system will indicate your application status for the qualification(s) you have applied for. If you are satisfied with your application status, click on registration information to get all the details regarding registrations (only applicants with an admitted status can proceed for registration). USe the change qualification button to change your qualification if you are not satisfied with it.
  4. Qualifications that you can apply for and still have space available will be displayed per Faculty/College.
  5. The system will list the available qualifications within the Faculty/College.
  6. Click on submit an enquiry or click on make a different selection to restart the process if you are not happy with what you chose.
  7. Input your correct cell phone number and click on submit.

University of Mpumalanga

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP), is located in Mbombela and it has been offering educational activities for students for years. UMP recently made it known to the public recently that there are still spaces in some qualifications for interested applicants.

UMP was established in 2014 in South Africa and started its academic activities with just over 100 students. The student population rose to over 4,000 in 2022 and it has continued to grow since then.

Central Applications Clearing House

Those that applied for a College or University admission but were not admitted can still get a chance to study at other universities or colleges through the Central Applications Clearing House, CACH.

The CACH will give you the opportunity to have access to career advice and also get referred to other universities, TVET College, Artisan development opportunities and others.

The Central Applications Clearing House (CACH) functions as a referral service for Post-School Education and Training institutions and students. If you want to get referred to an institution and also get career advice this is for you.

If you don’t get admission into an institution, the CACh can help you to secure a spot in the late application through their referral services. The Central Applications Clearing House will open its services from Monday 24 January and the sign up is open until 31 March.

Through CASH, you can receive career advice, referral to other opportunities such as being referred to other universities, T-vet college opportunities, artisan development opportunities and other possibilities.

Apart from offering career services and referring students to institutions they also make sure students do not fall victim pf bogus institutions.
