The mandate of the 50 public TVET Colleges is to increase the number of students enrolled and trained in priority and critical skills areas, which put TVET Colleges at the centre of the skills development agenda of South Africa. It has helped in equipping the unemployed, (specifically youth with no formal education Education, not in Employment and Training i.e. NEETs) and provide adequate skills to tackle poverty and hunger.
