The GCRA Bursary Application 2022 is open to the top 3 Grade 12 learners in Gauteng’s SSIP, No-fee paying, and LSEN government schools; to enable them to study at a recognized Higher Education Institution(HEI) or a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College.
Through different interventions such as bursaries, internships, leadership, skills programs, and so on; the GCRA can execute its responsibility of building a pool of skilled, capable and ethical workforce for the Gauteng City Region.
Qualifying youths, especially those from Gauteng (who are given special preference), who wish to study for an undergraduate and/or post-graduate program (at a South African accredited and registered Post School Education and Training institution) can apply for the GCRA bursary.
The bursary will cover the full cost of the recipient study, with conditions, as stipulated in the bursary contract.
KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE GCRA BURSARY 2022
Applicants must meet the following minimum level criteria before applying for the GCRA bursary application:
- Applicants must be South African Citizens.
- Applicants must be youths residing in Gauteng between the age of 18 and 35.
- Students that have completed matric and residing in Gauteng – Will have to submit a Proof of residence.
- Students intending to study an undergraduate program and have been accepted at an accredited PSET institution of learning and/or are currently registered for such.
- Students intending to pursue Post-Graduate studies and have been accepted at an accredited institution of higher learning.
The following students (who automatically qualify), must also complete the application form online:
- Top Achievers from Gauteng Schools.
- Top learner from no-fee paying schools in Gauteng.
- Top 3 learners from LSEN schools in Gauteng.
REQUIRED APPLICATION DOCUMENTS FOR THE GCRA BURSARY 2022
Applicants are required to submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with their online application; before their application can be considered for the GCRA bursary application:
- Certified copy of South African ID (by birth).
- Proof of Gauteng residence (utility bill or letter from ward councillor).
- Matric Certificate and or latest academic results (certified).
- Proof of income from the parent(s) or guardian(s) or affidavit.
- Letter of Motivation that is not more than 2 pages.
- Proof of registration or acceptance letter from PSET institution.
- Disability or medical report (where applicable).
