To relieve both the students and their parents of the burden that comes with the rising cost of tuition for their college, the Nordstrom Scholarship is awarded to high school juniors. The Nordstrom scholarship is awarded as a way for the student to give back to their community. The Nordstrom scholarship is given to students who are state residents where Nordstrom stores operate.
Successful students are rewarded as much as $10,000 towards their college expenses. Over 40 Students are awarded the Scholarship yearly.

How to Apply
Applicants are to write an essay and submit it to Nordstrom when applying for the Nordstrom Scholarship Program. From year to year, this essay varies slightly. Afterwards, Semi-finalists are then chosen and required to submit letters of recommendation from their teacher at their high school.
An interview with a predetermined selection committee will be conducted for students that are selected as finalists. The committee consists of educators, business leaders, community leaders, and various Nordstrom representatives.
