WSP provides services in engineering, research, technical and consulting solutions to vast varieties of sectors such as aerospace, aviation, automotive, chemical, construction, consumer products, energy, environment, healthcare, maritime, metal, mining, transportation, residential, retail, telecommunications and water industries.

WSP bursary scheme is for students currently studying in Engineering and Environmental Science degrees in an accredited South African educational institutions. Here is the eligible field of study:

  • Civil Engineering (BEng / BSc (Eng) / BIng)
  • Electrical Engineering (BEng / BSc (Eng) / BIng)
  • Environmental Sciences (BSc / BSc (Honours))
  • Mechanical Engineering (BEng / BSc (Eng) / BIng)

Bursary recipients will perform vacation work within the duration of their studies. Upon completion of their studies, bursary recipients may be employed by WSP. The following skills are also expected of students to succeed: enthusiasm, motivation, innovation, problem-solving, reliance, time management, leadership, teamwork, attention to detail, communication skills, community participation, willingness to learn and ability to work under pressure.

WSP Bursary Requirements and Eligibility

General Qualifications:

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric
  • Applicants with the previously disadvantaged background will be given preference

Civil Engineering Bursary applicants:

Must meet the following requirements:

  • Studying in the 2nd, 3rd or Final year of your BEng / BSc (Eng) / BIng Engineering degree.
  • Minimum 65% overall average and passed all subjects for your 2020 academic year to date.
  • Should not be in receipt of another bursary or scholarship to be eligible.
  • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged individuals, but all South African Citizens are welcome to apply.

Electrical Engineering Bursary applicants:

Must meet the following requirements:

  • Studying in the 2nd, 3rd or Final year of your BEng / BSc (Eng) / BIng Engineering degree.
  • Have achieved a minimum average of 65% and passed all subjects for your 2020 academic year to date.
  • Should not be in receipt of another bursary or scholarship to be eligible.
  • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged individuals, but all South African Citizens are welcome to apply.

Mechanical Engineering Bursary applicants:

Must meet the following requirements:

  • Studying in the 2nd, 3rd or Final year of your BEng / BSc (Eng) / BIng Engineering degree.
  • Have achieved a minimum average of 65% and passed all subjects for your 2020 academic year to date.
  • Should not be in receipt of another bursary or scholarship to be eligible.
  • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged individuals, but all South African Citizens are welcome to apply.

Environmental Science Bursary applicants:

Must meet the following requirements:

  • Studying in the 3rd or Honours year of your BSc Environmental Sciences degree.
  • Achieved a minimum average of 75% and passed all subjects for your 2020 academic year to date.
  • Should not be in receipt of another bursary or scholarship to be eligible.
  • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged individuals, but all South African Citizens are welcome to apply.
