Corona Virus Outbreak: Safety Tips and Regulation

The world is actually experiencing a pandemic disease called Coronavirus (Covid-19). The virus started in Wuhan China and has since then spread to other parts of the world like the USA, Italy, UK and many African countries. Today at Schoolgist we are going to spare some minute to tell you how to be safe from Coronavirus. You should also know that your staying safe will reduce the spread of the deadly virus. Though Chloroquine has been confirmed to be an effective treatment of Coronavirus (Covid-19) prevention is better than cure.

How To Avoid Being Infected with Coronavirus

The Red Cross gives out the following recommendation to help people avoid getting infected and stop the spread of the Coronavirus.:

  • Avoid the gathering of more than 10 people and try your best to stay home.
  • Social distancing: Keeping a distance of about six feet from others if it is a must to go to the public.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, most especially after visiting a public place, or after coughing, blowing your nose or sneezing.
  • Get a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol to wash your hand in the absence of soap and water.
  • Wash your hand before and after you touch your eye, mouth and nose.
  • Keep a distance from sick people.
  • Stay home if you are sick except you are going for medical help.
  • Always cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. All used tissues should be disposed of in the trash. If you don’t have tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow or sleeve, not your hands.
  • Frequently touched places should be clean and disinfected daily. Such places include tables, doorknobs, light switches, handles, desks, computers, phones, keyboards, sinks, toilets, faucets and countertops.
  • Clean dirty surfaces – use detergent or soap and water before disinfection
  • Wear a facemask when you are sick or around other people and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office.

COVID-19 SYMPTOMS

The following are the symptoms of Coronavirus according to CDC.

  • Fever
  • Shortness of breath
  • Cough

The symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Please call your doctor if you see any symptoms or expose to the virus.

WHO IS AT A HIGHER RISK?

The following people are at a higher risk of getting sick from the virus, they are; older adult, people with chronic medical conditions like diabetes, heart diseases and lung diseases. If you are part of the people that are at a higher risk of getting the virus, please adhere strictly to the safety tips above.
