University of Limpopo Closed: UL Opening Date

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in many parts of the world with South Africa included. This article is to give an update on the University of Limpopo, UL closure and opening date.

The University of Limpopo, UL together with other institutions in South Africa and across the globe, acknowledged the fact that closing down is of great importance during this difficult time. The university has to send her students home to help stop the spread of the virus despite the university does not have a case yet.

Here are the situations in UL:

  • UL has not recorded any case of coronavirus yet.
  • All trip abroad by the students and staffs has been cancelled.
  • They have suspended all exchange programs involving staff and students. Interactions with provincial and national governments
  • A protocol regarding the virus was established by the national government. PLEASE ensure UL is vigilant with respect to messages communicated via other channels.

  • Limpopo Government is issuing pamphlets through the Department of Health to guide the University’s day-to-day security issues related to the virus. The University will be finalizing its contingency plans during this time period. All official communication platforms at the University will be used to keep you updated.
  2. Meanwhile, all university staff will continue to report for work as UL continues to engage at the sector level to have a coordinated response that aligns with national protocols and complies with them. Precautionary measures should always be observed.
