SARB Art Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible for the Full Art Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be younger than 35 years old.
  • Have achieved an average pass mark of 65% in their current year of study.
  • Demonstrate financial need, indicating an inability to afford university attendance without a scholarship.
  • Be registered for one of the following qualifications in the 2024 academic year:
    • Final year of a four-year undergraduate degree in Fine Arts.
    • Honors degree in Fine Arts (following a three-year undergraduate degree in Fine Arts).
    • Master’s degree in Fine Arts.
    • One-year Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts (following a three-year undergraduate diploma in Fine Arts).

Application Procedure

To apply for this scholarship, please follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Visit the South African Reserve Bank careers portal.
  2. Complete the online application form.
  3. Submit the following documents in PDF format:
    • Images of 6 to 8 artworks produced in 2022 and 2023.
    • Academic transcripts for 2022 and 2023.
    • Copy of your South African identity document.
    • An essay of 250 words to motivate your application.
    • Proof of acceptance at a recognized tertiary institution.
  4. Use the promotional code: SARB ART 24 when submitting your application.
