The management of Sappi is encouraging young talented students to join the evolving industry and benefit from their bursary. This bursary is in partnership with accredited universities to support innovative South Africans.

Eligible Field
Below is the eligible field that can apply for this bursary:
- Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science – Mechanical Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science – Electrical Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science – Chemical Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science – Industrial Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science – Civil Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science – Mechatronics
- Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science – Forestry and Wood Sciences
- National Diploma – Pulp and Paper
- National Diploma in Forestry.
Sappi Bursary Eligibility
This bursary is for school leavers or students between the ages of 18 to 25 years studying or intend to study a full-time course at any accredited university in South Africa. Below are the other eligibility criteria for the bursary:
- Must be a South African citizenship
- Average of 70-80% in Mathematics (not Maths Literacy), 70-80% in Physical Science, and 60% in English, and
- qualifying points for entrance at the university, or acceptance confirmation to serve as proof.
- Current university results for undergraduate students.
Note: Preference will be given to learners with an average of 75% and above in Mathematics and Physical Science.
When to apply
The Sappi Bursary applications are open from 01 June to 30 September every year. Those that meet the requirements might b invited for an interview.
