Students can now apply for the Mintek Undergraduate Bursary Programme 2021. The application procedures and the required documents for the bursary will be provided in this post.
The purpose of Mintek Undergraduate and Postgraduate Bursary is to help talented, well-trained, and skilled technical students to receive a quality education. The beneficiaries of this bursary are to join Mintek after graduation to ensure smooth operation, research, and development of the company.
The mission of Mintek is to affirm the aim of the company which is to provide qualified and adequate skilled graduates to contribute to the development of Mintek and the whole South Africa minerals and metallurgy sector.
This bursary is for students that want to pursue an honor degree, undergraduate degree, or B. Tech in any of the following fields:
- Chemistry (Analytical or Geochemistry)
- Chemical Engineering (Minerals Processing option)
- Electrical Engineering (Process Control Systems or Electronics)
- Geology (majoring in Mineralogy, Petrology, Applied Geology or Economic Geology)
- Mathematics
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Physical Metallurgy / Materials Science
- Physics
Students in their first year of studying or towards a National Diplomas are not qualified to apply for Mintek Bursary.
Mintek Undergraduate Bursary Benefits
The bursary will take care of the following student expenses: meals, registration, tuition, accommodation and also receive an allowance of R15 000 per year.
Beneficiaries of this program are entitled to the above benefit on the condition that they pass the required modules and adheres to the bursary rules. Also, they will have to participate in yearly vacation work which they will be paid for.
Requirements
- Students currently at the university studying any of the above courses must have an overall average of 60% and no failed courses or subjects.
- A South African citizen.
- Students seeking admission into the above degree must meet the university entry requirements and be accepted at a recognized South African university for full-time studies.
