KwaZulu-Natal Museum Opportunities and Eligibility

Tour Guide (4 positions)

Requirements: A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Management or a related field.

Responsibilities: You will guide visitors through the gallery, ensure security in public spaces, provide information about the museum and its displays to the public and schools, and participate in other related departmental duties.

Environmental Management

Requirements: A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management or a related field.

Responsibilities: You will conduct environmental education programs, assist in the planning of educational programs, participate in environmental outreach programs, and perform other related departmental duties.

Sales and Marketing

Requirements: A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a related qualification. You should have a good understanding of the latest marketing trends and techniques, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a passion for marketing, outstanding multitasking abilities, computer literacy, and an active presence on multiple social media platforms.

 

Responsibilities: You will conduct market research, assist with planning and hosting marketing events, contribute ideas towards marketing strategies to promote the Museum, assist with front desk duties, and support the marketing team with administrative tasks.

Digital Artist

Requirements: A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Arts or a related field.

Responsibilities: Your duties will include capturing and editing video content, creating interactive digital content, and performing other related functions as directed by line management.

Health & Safety

Requirements: A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management/SAMTRAC or NEBOSCH Qualification rated from NQF Level 5 or other relevant qualification.

Responsibilities: You will be tasked with monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations, inspecting the Museum premises to ensure it is a hazard-free environment, promoting safe practices in the workplace, responding to employees’ safety, and performing any other related functions as directed by line management.
