CSIR Bursary South Africa 2020 – 2021

CSIR is calling on brilliant students that want to pursue a career in innovation, technological developments and research to apply for the 2021 bursary. The CSIR bursary aimed at increasing the number of black people and females in the engineering, science and technology sector, particularly in the following ield:

  • Computer Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Civil Engineering

The bursary will provide funds for students’ expenses like registration costs, meal allowance, laptop allowance,  tuition fees, prescribed textbooks allowance, accommodation, and a living allowance.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The following requirements are expected from the applicants:

  • South African citizen
  • Currently in Matric or have completed Matric

Current Matric students:

  • Have a minimum of level 5 for English (First Language)/ level 5 for English (Second Language)
  • Achieved a minimum of level 6 for Mathematics
  • Achieved a minimum of level 6 for Physical Science
  • Plan to study full-time towards a BSc/ BEng Engineering degree at a South African public university

Current tertiary students

  • Currently studying full-time towards a BSc/ BEng Engineering degree at a South African public university
  • Passed all previous subjects for your qualification

Together with the application form, applicants are to attach a copy the following certified documents:

  • ID document
  • Matric mid-year exam results (if currently in Matric of)
  • Matric certificate OR final results (if completed Matric)
  • Detailed academic record (if at tertiary level)
