AfriSam South Africa Pty Ltd which was founded in 1934, is presently the country’s second-largest cement producer. They are a producer and distributor of construction supplies, including aggregate, plaster, readymix, cement, and much more. The company is active in South Africa, Tanzania, Lesotho, Botswana, and Swaziland, six countries in Southern Africa.

For more than 80 years, AfriSam has contributed to the development of African infrastructure and is renowned for their premium building supplies. In addition to aggregate quarries located all over the country, the company also operates cement plants near Kimberley and Lichtenburg, blending plants in Brakpan and Swaziland, a milling plant headquartered in Roodepoort, a GGBFS grinding plant situated in Vanderbijlpark, and ready-mixed concrete plants spread across multiple locations.

Eligibility Requirements for the Afrisam Bursary

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements before applying (please be informed that your application will not be reviewed if you do not meet all the requirements):

  • Applicants must be studying or intend on studying full-time, towards a qualification within one of the fields of study listed above
