South West TVET College is one of top South Africa’s 50 public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges. The college operates under the supervision of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). It is one of the largest Technical and Vocational Education and Training service providers in the country, they specialise in priority skills development.
South West Gauteng College formally a FET college that operates under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) in accordance with the Continuing Education and Training Act, Act No.16 of 2006, as amended. The college is now a public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and it is an Umalusi accredited college. It is also accredited by several Sector Education and Training Authorities (Seta’s) to provide education and training to learners in the FET band (NQF Level 2 to 4).
Some of the college programme is offered in the Higher Education band (N4 to N6) levels. The college has over 30,000 enrollment and it is one of the biggest colleges in South Africa.
South West TVET Colleges are spread across Soweto, Roodepoort, Randburg and Mopalo which is the head office. The “LAND IS WEALTH FARM” in Sterkfontein is also part of the college.
