The Central Bank of Nigeria has announced that it is giving out N500 million to graduates in Nigeria. This was made known when the CBN introduced the Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Scheme (TIES). They will partner with Nigerian universities and polytechnics to ensure that this dream is actualized.

This was disclosed by the Central Bank of Nigeria in a circular, titled “Guidelines for the implementation of tertiary institutions entrepreneurship scheme“, dated October 2022.

The aim of this CBN N500 million Grant for Graduates is to enable graduates and undergraduates access grants to start up business after school and to enable them be employer of labour where ever they find themselves.

Requirements for CBN N500 million Grant for Graduates 2023

Applicants under the Scheme shall be graduates of Nigerian polytechnics and universities with:

  • First-degree certificate (B.Sc., HND or it is equivalent)
  • National Youth Service Certificate (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate
  • Certificate of Participation issued by polytechnics and universities evidencing entrepreneurship training
  • NYSC certificate not more that 7 years old
