The Agbiz Centenary Bursary is an annual fund given to students, it was established during the celebration of Agbiz 100 years of existence. This bursary aims to promote the number of people doing master’s, or PhD level research in agribusiness related fields.

Agbiz is also known for supporting the research of Agbiz Centenary Bursary holders.

The bursary will award a sum of R39 000.00 to its beneficiary.

Bursary Requirements

The Agbiz Centenary Bursary has put some eligibility requirements in place for its applicants. This bursary is open to only South African students that have registered for a master’s or PhD degree in either agricultural economics or agribusiness management-related fields, at a recognised South African university in 2022.

Fill the application form completely and attach the requirements documents to it.

Required documentation

Below are the required documents applicants need to apply for the bursary

1. Completed application form.

2. Certified copy of your South African ID or any other proof of RSA citizenship.

3. Proof of registration, or letter from the head of the department confirming qualification for admission (on tertiary letterhead).

4. Study record to date of an undergraduate degree (on tertiary letterhead)

5. Letter of recommendation by academic supervisor or head of the department (strictly no longer than one page).

6. Letter of motivation by the student, stating why he/she needs the bursary and what the bursary fund will be used for (strictly no longer than one page).

7. Declaration (on the application form) of any other bursary or support programme the
student benefits from (if relevant).

Closing date

Applicants are to submit their application form and supporting documents on or before 5 December 2021. Late application will not be considered.
